In 2020, the USBC Open Championships returns to Reno, Nevada, for its 117th tournament. The only prerequisite for participating in this prestigious and historical event is being a USBC member. Competitors will experience superior competition bowling at the newly renovated National Bowling Stadium, while exploring everything Reno has to offer.
An ongoing renovation project at the NBS previously included the addition of the Kingpin Club and bowling lanes on the ground floor, along with a satellite version of the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame, plus a new squad room. The recent phase of the makeover includes an expanded settee area and concourse redesign.
There event includes three divisions based on skill level: The Regular Division, for those who average 176 and above, the Standard Division for those with averages from 156-175 and the Classified Division, for bowlers who average 155 or below.
*Squad schedule for 2020: Team times are 2 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. (the two late team events will take place on alternating days). Doubles and singles squads are held at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. (every other day) and 9:30 p.m. Note: Teams included five players, and there will be one team per pair of lanes during team competition.
